SLT: Cougs open (hoops) camp banging into each other
The 2009-10 BYU basketball team has been practicing for about a week now, and coach Dave Rose has learned it shouldn't have a problem being physical this season.
"We've already got a couple of guys banged up," Rose said after Thursday's practice at the Richards Building. The Cougars have been bumped from the Marriott Center this week due to the annual Homecoming Spectacular program.
Freshman Tyler Haws missed the workout with "an IT band issue with his knee" after it was bumped the second day of practice. Rose said it started to swell, so Haws saw a doctor and will probably be out a couple more days.
Shooting guard Jackson Emery returned to practice Thursday after missing a few days with a thigh injury, and freshman Brock Zylstra suffered a concussion after butting heads with Jonathan Tavernari on Wednesday.
