McKay Jacobson Out 4-6 Weeks
This news would have made me cringe two weeks ago, but with the emergence of Spencer Hafoka and Luke Ashworth, this isn't terrible news. It does take away one big weapon for the Cougar offense, but Unga, DiLuigi, Chambers, the aforementioned receivers and Pitta are all playing well enough that BYU is still going to be extremely hard to stop.

i disagree
byu offense hasn’t appeared “extremely hard to stop” yet. They have appeared good, above average, but not as high powered as they are still portrayed, in my opinion. I see a big problem for byu in stretching the field. ashworth got behind awful utah state coverage and max got it to him on a bullet. the other long pass this season, to jacobson, was a very similar play vs florida state. however, has max had any success airing it up? both times he threw lofty deep balls vs utah state, they were picked off.
the team is racking up yards, but shoots themselves in the foot with turnovers. besides a few GREAT drives each game, they have shown alot of inability to move the ball. Shortening the field with jacobson’s absense and max’s seemingly weak deep ball just allows teams to put more focus on stopping the run and tight ends. just my opinion of course, but i see a big problem for byu going forward.
