Heaps has seven TD passes in state-opening win

Heaps, a BYU commit rated as one of the top quarterbacks in the nation, was 20-of-27 for 303 yards. He led the second-ranked Spartans (9-2) to a 56-7 lead at halftime and didn't play the second half.
"Individually this was best I've played, and it's not only me; this was the best team effort we've had the entire year," Williams told the Seattle Times. "We needed that, so we can get that momentum going for the games after this. They were a 10-0 team for a reason, so we weren't going to take them lightly." - MaxPreps

A Great Battle
I can hardly wait for January to roll around and Heaps to roll into town…it’s going to be a tremendous thing seeing Nelson and Jake duke it our for the starting spot. And, in light of Nelson’s all run and no pass technique, I’m hoping Heaps is the guy—for the sake of the BYU offense.
