Game Preview: Cougars-Aggies

Some quick tidbits about tonight's crucial early-season game in Logan...

BYU's averaging 88 points per game and winning games by an average of 27 points. The Cougar defense is going to have to continue their terrific play tonight (averaging 11 steals a game) if they want to leave Logan with a win.

Here's why: The Aggies have won 36 straight games in the Spectrum, and the last time they lost an in-state game at home was 9 years ago when BYU escaped in a close one, 82-73, behind Terrell Lyday's 35 points (USU's won 20 of their last 21 against in-state foes)...and then there's this: the Aggies have won 23 or more games each of the last 10 seasons.

The Cougars are going to have to play extremely well to notch their 6th win.

I’m not sure this team has some serious balls, so my prediction is Utah St. by 7.

The line is Aggies by 1.5. And I didn’t buy Full Court this year, so I’ll have to miss this one. Sadly.

My swag was phenomenal.

Always tough...

I think we’ll have a really good idea what kind of team BYU is after tonight’s game. This is probably their biggest challenge of the season (until Arizona St. next Tuesday), but perhaps even more difficult considering the Aggies’ toughness at home.

Phew

Thank goodness for a slingbox in Utah. It’s on the local channel there, so I can remotely watch it. Big game for UNLV too. Hope they win.

My swag was phenomenal.

Should be a GREAT game!

With USU having lost their star from last year I just don’t see them keeping up with the speed of Freddette and Co. I think where we’ll see BYU pull away is when our bench comes in and continues rolling.

I like our chances at the Spectrum, my guess is BYU by at least 5, but the game won’t be as close as the score indicates. USU’s 6th man will be their only hope.
