OL Hansen out up to 3 weeks; S Johnson "Possible" for Saturday

+

"Left guard Braden Hansen underwent an MRI Sunday and the good news is his did not tear an ACL. He is expected to be out 1-3 weeks, Mendenhall said, and is listed as doubtful for this week. Marco Thorson is expected to play in Hansen's spot. To compensate for the lack of depth, defensive lineman Jordan Richardson will move from D-line to O-line starting today. "We need him," Mendenhall said. The move was mentioned to Richardson when the team returned home from New Orleans late Saturday night and Richardson's response, according to Mendenhall was that he'd play "wherever you need me." As for safety Scott Johnson, who sustained another concussion on Saturday, Mendenhall said the contact was made with his jaw, not his head, which is more good news. The protocol for Johnson to return will be more stringent because this is his second concussion in about three weeks. Johnson is listed as "possible" for Saturday. If he can't go, the Cougars will go with either sophomore Shiloah Te'o or true freshman Craig Bills." - Jeff Call, Deseret News
