"I don't think either (Kentucky's John Wall or South Carolina's Devan Downey) impacts the college game the way Fredette does. As much as I have great respect for Wall and Downey, those guys can't get 50 in a college game...they can't get to the free throw line 24 times in a game. To me, Fredette is one of the best-kept secrets in college basketball."

Article on Jimmer Fredette
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2010/writers/andy_staples/03/17/breakthrough.player/index.html
nice recognition
but the article has very little to do with Jimmer or BYU, other than that he thinks he has a funny name and might hit a buzzer beater. First off, buzzer beaters are very uncommon. Odds favorite in Vegas is that there will be zero buzzer beaters in the whole tourney (5/7). Second of all, I hope it doesn’t come down to one. However, I could see Jimmer becoming the tourney’s breakout star by blowing up for 40 points and handing a lot to K-State.
high praise
coming from all over. who would have thought that BYU would become such a big sleeper pick. billy donovan isnt looking past this team, but lets hope BYU gets this win, in safe fashion and ends their first round curse!
