Boiler Boylen goes off on Tribune's Monson
Sure Jim Boylen is a passionate guy, but did you know he's also a jerk, a complete polar opposite to the classy Dave Rose? Well, if you didn't know this, look no further than Wednesday's post game spat with the Salt Lake Tribune's Gordon Monson:
Boylen: "Don't come here once every two years and ask those questions. I don't want to hear that from you."
"I can ask the questions," said Monson.
"Good," said Boylen. "I'm not answering it. Don't come here once every two years. I don't want to hear that from you."
Monson replied, "Coach, give me a break — show some class."
Said Boylen, "Yeah, nice of you to show up."
You may be wondering what the question was that angered Boylen so badly... "Coach, what was the reason for the offensive inefficiency?"
GIVE ME A BREAK BOILER BOYLEN. YOU'RE PATHETIC, AND THE REASON WHY YOUR TEAM IS PATHETIC. No wonder nobody shows up to your lousy games.

A few words from a Ute:
First of all:
I’ll be the first to admit that no matter how you slice the bread, the Utes just stink right now. We have no leadership and there are lots of mentality issues that need to be changed if the the U is ever gonna be compete in the MWC again. Many Ute fans can blame our down year on lack of talent but that is no excuse.
Secondly:
While I also admit Boylen has some serious responsibility issues to work out, I can’t give that weasel Monson a free pass. Even some cougar fans will agree that the guy is an arrogant prick and he’s not the only whiner in this story.
Even the great John Stockton once lashed out at a reporter for asking a dumb/obvious questions after a tough loss: it happens. I guess it’s one of my pet peeves: reporters who push players and coaches buttons purposely just for the sake of “good journalism” or “because they can”.My point is before Monson dares to use the word “class”, he should get a little himself.
Okay my rant is over. Kudos to your boys and Dave Rose for their record right now.
Totally agree with Boylen
If I were Boylen I would get sick of people asking me the same question every year too. “Seriously come up with a new question Monson. Every year we are inefficient and every year you ask why” (paraphrasing coach).
