Defending the 1984 National Championship
We don't have much to talk about in July, so you should find this blast to the past interesting. As long as there are critics to the championship this will be a relevant topic.

Gives 5 reasons why BYU's 1984 National Championship should not be disputed.
1. Beat the number 3 ranked team.
2. Beat Tulsa.
3. Won its bowl game.
4. Was the consensus number 1.
5. Win-loss record.

6. Washington was invited to play them, and ran away scared.
or for the money, depending on who is writing the account of history. Either way they chose not to play BYU.

I think it's legit
I am a Utah fan, and feel that BYU’s national championship is legit. I also feel that Utah deserved to be the undisputed national champions in 2008, considering the exact same criteria was met.
That is my only qualm, not that BYU got a National Championship, only that Utah didn’t get one, having met the exact same criteria.
I think both seasons are equally as impressive. And let it be known to anyone who tries to credit one of those seasons over the other.
I don't pour beer on Max Hall's family often, but when I do, I prefer Dos Equis.
