The Wildcat/cougar
I think that we should start Jake Heaps and run the "wild cougar" with Riley Nelson. What does everyone else think? I'm not usually a fan of a 2 quarterback system, but I think that this could work. I've always thought that the big weakness of running a wildcat formation is that with a running back the defense can focus more on the run, but with Riley running it, they really wouldn't know what to do.

NO
stick to what works. You dont want to stunt Heaps growth by having him come out during those plays.
Never have understood the Wildcat craze
Especially if we are talking about using a quarterback to run it. How does that change anything? A team with a good run game and a good pass game don’t need to use gimmicks to be effective. The defense can’t focus more on the run or the pass, but they have to respect them both.
The Wildcat is really just the old Wing formation
1930’s football.
It needs to be run by a RB who might throw the ball. The QB in the wildcat works much better as a WR who might throw deep out of a reverse.
Unga would have been awesome at running the Wildcat. Any QB, not so much. (Except maybe Tim Tebow, who was always more of a FB than a QB in my book)

It may not be called the wildcat...
but they will be running a 2 QB system, which I think will really put defenses on their heels. http://www.cougarfan.com/article.asp?ArtID=62624&URL=http://www.byucougars.com/Filing.jsp?ID=14279
