Friday Flashback: Manumaleuna's Big Paw Makes an Appearance in Las Vegas
BYU met the UCLA Bruins in Los Angeles in early September. The Cougars left the Rose Bowl with a disappointing 27-17 loss. Luckily the Cougars got a chance to avenge that loss in the Pioneer Las Vegas (for what seemed like the 14th time). The Cougs dominated the first half but after a Harvey Unga fumble, the Bruins scored going into the half. Defense dominated the second half. UCLA hit one field goal and had the chance to to win the game with a 28 yard field goal with 3 seconds to go. Then Ethan Manumaleuna happened:

I remember watching this play LIVE
Thinking all hope was lost. Then it all changed.

I really would if I still lived in utah
I was part of the original authors that started this site. Problem is I moved to Philly and instead of re-writing the same things I was reading elsewhere I just hung up the cleats.
I don’t want to make it sound like I was mad, I know how tough it is to keep this thing going. I’m just hoping to hear some real news about training camp and what not.

I remember....
…talking to my dad on the phone about BYU’s lost hope. If I remember right the UCLA kicker had already drilled a couple of field goals from distance and this chip shot looked like a lost cause. And just when I was about to turn the TV off…a miracle happened, as so often does with this team, and I was left speechless. I managed to NOT drop my phone, but I could not believe what happened. Honestly one of the best moments (in my opinion) in recent BYU memory…right behind the answered prayer, 4th and 18 (I stormed the field on that one), and the victory over Oklahmoa.
I loved this game
Especially seeing Bruce Davis face after that kick was blocked. He played hard, but seeing him celebrate after every tackle and play he made pissed me off.
"I hate it! It looks like a stickup at 7-Eleven. Five guys standing there with their hands in the air."
Norm Sloan
"We have a great bunch of outside shooters. Unfortunately, all our games are played indoors."
Weldon Drew
Just FYI, you can have your existing username changed instead of starting a new one.
You just have to e-mail SB Nation support (don’t remember the e-mail address offhand) and they’ll change it for you.
I did that.
They never got back to me and nothing was changed. Thanks for the thought though.

Unless someone already states this...
I remember when they were lining up the camera panned over to a ucla defensive guy, talented but hot headed and he was slapping hi fives to the crowd and probably taunting byu fans (speculation on my part of course). How I wish they panned back over to see his expression after the block. That’s why you celebrate when it’s all over.
