Around SBN: Events Cause Mariners To Lose To Rangers

A source close to the situation at Brigham Young University is indicating that if the Big 12 Conference in fact holds together as now expected, BYU is highly likely to become a full member of that conference if it can be assured that the league will be stable into the future."

I'd like to see BYU in the Big 12

But I honestly think the issue that will prevent BYU from going Big 12 will be playing on Sundays. With big TV contracts that would require sunday games for sports like Basketball, I don’t think Big 12 would be accommodating, and since BYU won’t flinch on that, it could hold a deal up.

If I was in a room with Bin Laden, Hitler, and George Maloof, and I had a gun with two bullets, I'd shoot George Maloof twice

I've heard that Sunday play is not an issue.

From what I’ve heard bigger issues are assurances of stability (don’t want to join Big 12 if it just falls apart next summer) and BYUtv. Some Big 12 games are on Fox regional networks, which aren’t available in some areas. I think BYU worries about making those games available to their nationwide fan base.
