Time to step up our game with fan-to-fan interaction
Cougar fans, it's time we stepped up our game when it comes to debates, discussions and open conversation in general. I just did a flyby over at our friends http://www.slipperstillfits.com/ (Gonzaga), and was quite impressed with the amount of fan post interactions, namely the replies and comments for each post. Lots of insight being shared.
In general, the typical BYU fan who frequents blogs, is usually quite knowledgable. I like reading others' opinions and points of view when it comes to big games, players, coaches and outcomes. The sum of many fan minds together is much greater than each of us as individuals. We need to make a concentrated effort to open up more dialogue and increase our member interaction, it will make this blog much more fulfilling for all of us!
VTF has a great staff of writers that have posted great pieces almost daily, but this blog isn't just for them to sound off, it's for all of Cougar Nation! Use the fan posts section to share your thoughts, ideas and opionins....and don't be affraid to comment when others do the same. Due to the type of season we're having so far, I'm sure there's many a great debate to be had.
This is a FanPost of the Vanquish The Foe community. This post does not necessarily reflect the views of VTF or of SB Nation

I think there are two driving factors behind the lack of comments on VTF...
The first, this site sat almost dormant for close to a year (and maybe before that). When I first found this site, it was completely dead. I was part of a group of 5-7 that tried to get it going again, but that was during the summer when there was very little going on in the world of BYU sports. Then school and life in general got in the way of something I saw as a hobby that I couldn’t devote A LOT of time to. That, coupled with a manager going MIA just before Football season, really hindered VTF again. I am completely happy with the staff that is now running/contributing to this site now. I am very happy with my roll as master of all victory dance parties and commentator. I’m sure more people will comment as the quality content continues to be put out there, which leads me to my second point.
There are A LOT of blogs out there that cover the BYU Cougars. There are professional blogs and those by fans who just care and want to be heard. Let’s run down some of the more well-known (at least the ones I come across via Twitter)…
- Cougar Tracks by Greg Wrubell on KSL.com
- BYU Sports by Jay Drew on sltrib.com
- CougarBlue by Provo Daily Herald Staff
- BYUtv Sports by BYtv Sports Staff
- Cougar Nation by Brandon Gurney on KSL.com
- BYU Sports by Jeff Call on DeseretNews.com
- Cougar Center
- Post-Jimmer
- Death Star D
- Deep Shades of Blue
- Cougarboard
- Talkin Utah Sports
No doubt there are many that i am forgetting, but these are the ones I can think of right now. There are a lot of voices in the BYU blogosphere. The one advantage that VTF has on those other sites is it combines the reporting of most of them with the message board commenting style of cougarboard (minus the crazies and the early 2000s formatting). I try to make it a point to comment when I have something insightful to say (or a nice gif/picture). I’ll do my best to post a fanpost or two when possible. I think VTF has all the tools to succeed. There is a great staff. There is a great user interface. There is great possibility for others to contribute. I think the future is bright for VTF.

Kurtis, can’t say enough about your support in our takeover. You’re a gentleman and a scholar.

This is a fantastic site!
It’s my turn for a revenge drive by.
I have nothing but positive things to say. The columns keep coming. The writers are top notch.
BYU is a great program with tradition. A very respectable coach in Rose.
Heck, I have even stuck my head in from time to time and have been treated with respect even though I have differing opinions and am a Gonzaga fan.
Preston did that write up on visiting the Kennel. If someone would have done similiar on TSSFs they would have been a superstar! Or, at least a member fav for a few weeks.
Keep up the excellent work. Get the word out about your site.
Adios!
Final 4 or Bust!!~
