The Cougars and the Bearcats have never met on the gridiron.

BYU football will play a home-and-home series with the Cincinnati Bearcats, according to an official release from Cincinnati athletics.

The two teams will first play on Oct. 24, 2015 in Provo. Cincinnati is added to a 2015 slate that includes road games at Nebraska, Southern Mississippi, and Hawaii; and home games against Boise State and Utah State.

In 2016, BYU travels to Cincinnati to play the Bearcats in a season that has road games slated for Utah and West Virginia (at FedEx Field in Maryland). This game will be played on Nov. 12, 2016.

The Bearcats are currently 5-2 in 2012, and finished ranked #25 in 2011 under coach Butch Jones. Previously under current Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly, Cincinnati went 33-7 over the 2007-09 seasons.

Cincinnati, a member of the Big East Conference, plays at Nippert Stadium, which holds a capacity of 35,097 fans and was renovated as recently as 2005. These will be the first two meetings between BYU and Cincinnati.
