ESPN: Max Hall is Official No. 2 QB in AZ

+

The Arizona Cardinals saw some Kurt Warner-type qualities in Max Hall after signing him as an undrafted free agent from BYU. The degree to which they liked Hall made it much easier for the team to move on without Matt Leinart, whose release will become officials once processed by the NFL office. Hall, informed that he will serve as the No. 2 quarterback behind Derek Anderson, surely realizes things can change quickly. It's possible the Cardinals could land a veteran quarterback at some point. But they're excited enough about Hall to go into the season with him as their backup. Expect much more on the subject from coach Ken Whisenhunt, who has a news conference scheduled for Saturday at 3 p.m. ET.

BYU: 2007 vs. 2010

+

The Brigham Young Cougars faced many of the same challenges coming in to the 2010 football season as they did in 2007. Coming off an 11-2 season, BYU opened the season at home against a Pac-10 team. The Cougars had to replace their three year starting quarterback, their all-time leading rusher, and their all-conference tight end. This has been pointed out by many already. Now that one game is in the books, let's compare how the first game went in 2007 and 2010.

"Thanks to the success of our programs, we’ve had a difficult time finding teams willing to come to LaVell Edwards Stadium to play us. We believe the combined resources between BYU and ESPN are already paying off – we’re still working out the details, but we have agreed to a six-game deal through 2020 with Notre Dame football that will bring the Fighting Irish to Provo."
