Here's a quick recap of some of Saturday's results relevant to the Cougars:
- Florida State 19, Jacksonville State 9 - Recap; Boxscore; Tomahawk Nation
Incredible. The Seminoles scored two TD's with less than a minute remaining to escape a major upset at home.
- (16) TCU 30, Virginia 14 - Recap; Boxscore; Mountain West Connection
It wasn't even as close as the score might indicate. The Frogs ran for over 200 yards and gave up just 7 first downs.
- (17) Utah 24, San Jose State 14 - Recap; Boxscore; Block U
To some extent, the Utes played down to the level of their opponent - this game was tied at 7 going into the 4th.
- (2) Texas 41, Wyoming - Recap; Boxscore; Burnt Orange Nation
Disappointing for the MWC and a big sigh of relief for the Big 12 after the Longhorns led only 13-10 at halftime.
- Oregon State 23, UNLV 21 - Recap; Boxscore; Building the Dam
The Rebels took their first lead with only 4:16 remaining but Oregon St.'s FG with 7 seconds won it in Las Vegas.
More scores after the jump...
- Minnesota 20, Air Force 13 - Recap; Boxscore; The Daily Gopher
The Falcons led 10-3 in the 4th, but AFA QB Jefferson's fumble was returned for a TD and the Gophers escaped.
- Colorado State 24, Weber State 23 - Recap; Boxscore; Mountain West Connection
The Rams' win over Colorado is less impressive after almost losing at home and the Buffaloes loss to Toledo.
- San Diego State 35, Southern Utah 19 - Recap; Boxscore
Former Cougar (though briefly) QB Cade Cooper led the T-Birds to 19 points against the Aztecs in San Diego. Yikes.
- Tulsa 44, New Mexico 10 - Recap; Boxscore; Mountain West Connection
The Lobos aren't a good football team and their offense didn't score any TD's against Tulsa tonight in Albuquerque.
- (3) USC 18, (8) Ohio State 15 - Recap; Boxscore; Conquest Chronicles (USC); We Will Always Have Tempe (OSU)
Trojans' defense was too much for the Buckeyes, holding Pryor and Co. to just 265 yards of total offense at home.
- Houston 45, (5) Oklahoma State 35 - Recap; Boxscore
Another week, another Big 12 upset. Houston had 512 yards of total offense and the Cowboys had 4 turnovers.
- (13) Oklahoma 64, Idaho State 0 - Recap; Boxscore; Crimson and Cream Machine
