BYU Ladies look to make the WNIT Quarterfinals

Lost amidst the glory and success our BYU Cougars men's basketball team has garnered is the fact that BYU has another team still playing in a post season tournament. That's right, our women's basketball team advanced past the first and second round of the WNIT and will be competing to play in the quarterfinals; which is where the Cougars got last year.

In the first round they beat Denver and in the second round they clobbered Utah State to a tune of 102-63. Which is the largest point total of the season for the Cougars. They are set to play again tonight against USC at the Marriot Center at 7 on BYUtv; so it's starting in a few minutes now. I'll be watching it (or at least having it on in the background.)

USC made it here after thumping Nevada 78-59. They had four players in double figures in that game. The last time these two teams met was in December of 2008 with BYU winning by one point, 65-64. The overall series between these teams is 4-3 with USC leading it. They split their two games in Provo.

I will admit that I haven't watch a second of women's basketball this year so I can't give any analysis, but I would still encourage you guys to watch if you can and support our BYU athletics.
