BYU Football Recruiting Spotlight: QB Taysom Hill

National signing day is just a few days away. Today we will begin individual player spotlights of BYU's 2012 football signing class. First up? A post-mission commit, quarterback Taysom Hill.

Taysom Hill is a current three-star prospect out of Highland high school in Idaho. Before departing on a mission, Hill was a four-star recruit who committed to Jim Harbaugh at Stanford. His commitment was met with lots of excitement in Palo Alto. With Harbaugh's departure, Hill decided he would play at BYU when he arrived home.

While it is unclear if Hill will be in the mix for playing time/backup status in 2012 or if he will redshirt, he certainly seems to be the heir-apparent for 2013. As BYU coaches have revealed they are now seeking quarterbacks who can make plays with their legs, Hill fits that mold. At 6-2, Hill will be tall enough to make the needed throws, and has power in his legs to cause damage on the ground.
