Today's final 2012 recruiting spotlight is Troy Hinds, defensive end out of Kaysville, Utah.
Hinds garnered attention from most every big program in the West. At 6-5, 225, Hinds is strong and athletic and will have plenty of opportunity to become a strong pass rusher in college. Hinds is currently ranked #239 in the Rivals Top 250. As you can see in the highlights below, the four-star prospect was often used as a roving strongside backer/defensive end -- similar to how BYU uses Kyle Van Noy on the weak side, but lined up more in an end position than a backer position. Hinds's athleticism also had him play some tight end at Davis High as well.
Like Tanner Mangum, Hinds will also serve an LDS mission before playing at BYU.
Watch for spotlights tomorrow (signing day!) for the two dark-horse recruits who could be absolute gems for the Cougars.
