Know The Foe: Week 3 Results From BYU Opponents

Presswire

During basketball season, we gave you the West Coast Walkthrough. In football season, without the tethers of conference affiliation, we will instead take you around BYU's 2012 schedule to see how each team fared.

A good number of wins, and Utah State had a heartbreak in Madison. Here are what BYU's 2012 opponents did over the weekend:

WASHINGTON STATE (2-1)
WON 35-27 over UNLV
Washington State moved ahead 14-0 early, and cruised the rest of the way. The defense is suspect, but every time UNLV would score, Wazzu would answer and the game was never really in question. Connor Halliday threw for 378 yards and 4 touchdowns.

WEBER STATE (0-3)
LOST to 35-21 to #19 McNeese State
The Wildcats gave up 557 yards of offense to a good FCS team.

#24 BOISE STATE (1-1)

HAWAI'I (1-1)
WON 54-2 over Lamar
The Warriors got the bad taste of a USC shellacking and a bye week out of their mouths with a big win over FCS Lamar. I love the two points -- Lamar scored on a PAT return. 54-2 looks worse to me than 54-0.
Next week: vs. Nevada (2-1)

UTAH STATE (2-1)
LOST 16-14 at Wisconsin
Heartbreak. That 2011 roller coaster has rolled into 2012. Utah State missed a field goal as time expired.
Next week: vs. Colorado State (1-2)

OREGON STATE (1-0)
