Know The Foe: Week 4 Results From BYU Opponents

During basketball season, we gave you the West Coast Walkthrough. In football season, without the tethers of conference affiliation, we will instead take you around BYU's 2012 schedule to see how each team fared.

It seems like every time one BYU opponent comes up with a strong win, another suffers a bad loss. Let's take you around BYU's 2012 schedule and look at the week 4 results:

Wazzu was up 31-14 early in the fourth quarter. A really, really bad loss for the Cougs.

The Wildcats lost to another ranked FCS team this week, keeping pace but falling short after too many turnovers.

UTAH (2-2)
LOST 37-7 at Arizona State
The Utes were outgained 512-209 and got boat-raced in the first half.

LOST 69-24 to Nevada
The Warriors gave up 170 rushing yards and 6 TD (and another through the air) to Nevada RB Stefphon Jefferson in an absolute rout.

WON 31-19 at Colorado State
Kerwynn Williams rushed for 202 yards through three quarters and a garbage-time touchdown made the final score feel closer than it was.

27-20 at #19 UCLA
Sean Mannion threw for 379 yards, including two first-half bombs. Brandin Cooks and Markus Wheaton finished with 175 and 150 receiving yards.

WON 13-6 over #18 Michigan
The Irish intercepted five-straight Michigan passes during this messy win.

After going down 19-0, Georgia Tech scored 36 straight to go up 36-19 ... and then allowed 23 straight to lose anyway.

In a game where the lead changed hands four times in the 4th quarter, the Spartans emerged victorious.

LOST 27-14 to New Mexico
NMSU has defensive problems. Two weeks ago, NMSU gave up just shy of 600 yards to Ohio, then gave up just shy of 500 to UTEP. This week, the Aggies surrendered 302 rushing yards to the Lobos.
