We may need to rename our Player of the Game honors to the Player of the Game not-named-Taysom-Hill, so we can feature some other players on the team. The fact of the matter is that the way Hill is playing right now, it is nearly impossible for any other player on the team to have the impact on the game that Hill is having.
Hill followed up his record setting performance against Houston last week with an impressive showing versus Boise State this past Friday. The sophomore quarterback recorded 339 passing yards, three passing touchdowns, 69 rushing yards, and a rushing touchdown against the Broncos. If BYU had not gone to a more conservative approach in the second half due to the lopsided halftime score, Hill may have easily eclipsed the combined 400 yards passing and 100 yards rushing mark for the second consecutive game. A feat that has never been accomplished.
Hill's recent performances have some suggesting that Hill belongs in this season's Heisman trophy race. Although there is no denying Hill has shown he is a special player over the last few weeks, his poor performances at the beginning of the season will almost surely keep him out of the Heisman conversation this season.
Here's a few of Hill's highlight plays from the Boise State game:

At one point Hill even tried to take flight over two Boise State defenders.

Hill's recent success in both the passing and rushing game make him one of the most dynamic players in the FBS. His 357.5 yards per game of total offense currently rank sixth in the nation just behind the likes of SMU's Garrett Gilbert, Oregon State's Sean Mannion, Texas A&M's Johnny Manziel, Fresno State's Derek Carr, and Baylor's Bryce Petty.
Hill will face his toughest test of the season when he leads the Cougars against the Wisconsin Badgers following the bye week. The Badgers tout the nation's 6th ranked total defense giving up an average of only 285 yards per game to their opponents. Hill may need the biggest game of his young career if BYU is going to have a shot to come out of Camp Randall with a victory.
How confident are you with Taysom Hill's ability to lead the Cougars against the Badgers in Camp Randall?
