1st Half
Tonight, the 19th ranked BYU women's soccer team beat the 16th ranked Bears of Baylor 2-1 in Waco, Texas. The two teams played very physical to the tune of 15 (BYU) and 16 (Baylor) fouls per team and 4 yellow cards. The Cougars started off the scoring in the 29th minute when Cloee Colohan reached the net with her first goal on the season. This would be the only score of the first half. The Cougars led the shots by a total of 6-5 but Erica Owens led 3-1 in saves.
Second Half
The second half was even more physical with three of the four yellow cards being given, with one going to Annie Amos of BYU. In the 52nd minute Baylor star Bri Campos tied up the game at one a piece. With the pressure on, Colett Jepson Smith hit the back of the net for the winning goal in the 72nd minute. The teams ended with similar numbers as BYU took 12 shots to Baylor's 10. BYU had 6 shots on goal while Baylor had 5. The glaring number was the nine corners of Baylor to two for BYU.
