Two days after the 11th ranked Cougars notched a come-from-behind victory against Oklahoma, they fell on the road to Long Beach State. The 1-0 loss is their first road loss on the season and drops their record to 5-2-1. Long Beach improved their record to 5-3.
The Game
The only points of the game came in the first half in the 13th minute when Mimi Rangel kicked a free kick over the Cougar wall and into the net. The free kick was awarded after BYU goalkeeper Erica Owens collided with Eileen Maes outside the box. BYU had their chances throughout the game but couldn't capitalize after having nine shots. There was a close call though when a shot bounced off the crossbar in the seventh minute.
Next Game
BYU returns home to play Denver who is ranked 14th. The game is at 7 MDT at South Field. The game will be on BYU Radio-Sirius XM 143. No TV broadcast has been announced.
