What We're Watching

BYU played last night, meaning we have an entire Saturday to ourselves....Obviously we're going to be watching college football. We're geared up for what we think are going to be 2 of the most exciting games of the day. Find out what they are.

Ohio State vs. Wisconsin

6 p.m. MDT on ABC HD

At 6 pm MDT on ABC the 4th ranked Ohio State Buckeyes will meet their first true test of the season.  23rd ranked Wisconsin comes in with a 3-1 record after having their only loss coming in the highly controversial finish against Arizona State.  Ohio State is 4-0 with blow out wins in three of the four games, even with playing their 2nd string quarterback.

One of the most exciting things to see will be Wisconsin and their 3rd ranked rushing offense, on the road in a hostile environment.  Ohio State has the 6th ranked rushing offense, but these numbers may be inflated due to the lack of competition.  The Wisconsin defense has only allowed an average of 10.5 points per game but did allow 32 points to ASU.  With Ohio State providing a much strong rushing test, it should be fun to see the chess match between these two teams.

Wisconsin will step out of Big Ten play to host BYU on November 9th, 2013.  The Ohio State game should give Cougar fans a glimpse of how the Badger team will react against a quality opponent.  I will be rooting for the Badgers not only to see the Cougars strength of schedule increase but I would love to see the Buckeyes knocked down a notch and the underdog to prevail.

Game plays at 6 p.m. MDT on ABC HD.

LSU vs Georgia

1:30 MDT on CBS HD

Taysom is putting up some impressive running stats. He is currently ranked #3 in the nation , trailing the number 2 spot by a mere 8 yards, and the number 1 spot by 59. Longest rushes hovering at 43 yards per game and his weekly average of 141 yards per game. He's quick and deceptive, allowing him to make decisions that play out for our offense. That's something the SEC could be proud of.

Todd Gurley of Georgia and Jeremy Hill of LSU are going head to head today with one of the most entertaining running offensive match-ups of the day.

Gurley has had an impressive 377 yards in 3 games averaging a solid 6 yards a carry for 4 touchdowns and rushing for an amazing 75 yards in his first game against #3 Clemson.

Even more impressive is the mere 42 attempts of Hill to rush for 350 yards, averaging 8.3 yards per carry, that converted for 6 touchdowns.

Hill is obviously on the rise (just look at his stats), but Gurley has had the much tougher schedule so far (according to Massey, Georgia has had the #2 rated strength of schedule so far compared to LSU's #41). This could prove to be Hill's real testing ground, while Gurley has been hardened in the past couple games and is ready to go. I want to see how these two will adjust in this tough game.

Did I mention that both of these kids are Sophomores? Oh and both also lead their teams in rushing by a lot. This will be fun.

Game plays at 1:30 MDT on CBS HD.
