BYU in the NFL - Week 12: Ziggy Ansah playing key role in his second season

Andrew Weber-USA TODAY Sports

With Brett Keisel on a bye week, it was a fairly slow week among former Cougars in the league. Ziggy Ansah, Kyle Van Noy, and John Denney were the only former BYU players, who recorded stats this week.

Ziggy Ansah continued his impressive season in his second year in the NFL. Ansah recorded three tackles in Detroit's loss to New England on Sunday, which gives Ansah three or more tackles in seven of his last eight games. Ansah now has 38 tackles, 5.5 sacks, and 3 forced fumbles on the season and continues to be a key contributor on one of the NFL's best defenses.

Along with being one of the most dominant Lions, Ansah is apparently one of the best dressed in Detroit.  And yes, he is still rocking the 3D glasses with the lenses punched out.

Dennis Pitta (Ravens): Pitta is out for the season with a major hip injury he suffered in Week 3.

Ziggy Ansah (Lions): Ansah had 3 tackles in Detroit's 9-34 loss to New England.

Kyle Van Noy (Lions): Van Noy had 1 tackle in Detroit's 9-34 loss to New England.

John Denney (Dolphins): Denney recorded a fumble recovery in Miami's 36-39 loss to Denver.

Brett Keisel (Steelers): Pittsburgh had a bye this week, so Keisel had the week off.

Dallas Reynolds (Giants): Reynolds was on New York's inactive list for Week 12.

Daniel Sorensen (Chiefs): Sorensen played in Kansas City's 20-24 loss to Oakland.

Cougars currently on NFL practice squads: Spencer Hadley (Raiders) and Hebron Fangupo (Chiefs)
