Fred Warner, the nation's No. 26 OLB prospect in the nation according to the 247sports composite rankings has signed his letter of intent to play football for BYU. Fred, who played for Mission Hills High School in San Marcos, California, chose BYU over his other three finalists, USC, Arizona State and California.
The 6-3, 205 pound , Fred is a four-star prospect by 247sports. Warner played outside linebacker during his high school career. Fred Warner is known for his overall athleticism and his reaction quickness. Because of his speed and reaction quickness he is able to move sideline to sideline and will be able to get some big tackles in the backfield.
Warner who verbally committed to BYU last April was looking around at other schools, specifically USC and Arizona State before signing his letter of intent with BYU to play football. Warner was recruited by Kelly Poppinga.
Warner who will help fill the hole that Kyle Van Noy left after his season can really help benefit BYU's smash mouth defense and help add some speed on defense and special teams. With his amazing reaction time he could find himself in the backfield a lot in the coming season of BYU football.
