Sione Takitaki a 6-2, 240 pounds fullback and defensive end prospect from Brentwood, California, has signed his letter of intent to play football for BYU. The Cougars are recruiting him to play a speed rush defensive end. He is LDS and his family really wanted him to go to BYU to be around the church's influence. He also knows Tyler Cook, who signed with BYU earlier today and who lives just a town away from him.

Takitaki is received an 84 player rating and a three-star ranking from 247sports. He also received offers from Wisconsin, Arizona, Washington State, Nevada, and San Diego State.

With the news of Kaufusi moving over to play outside linebacker, there seems to be an opening in BYU's future for good speed rush defensive ends. Takitaki could eventually fill one of those spots. With 19 listed defensive lineman on the roster, and only two of them seniors, Takitaki will need to stand out in order to get on the field this upcoming season. Even if he doesn't play, if he utilizes his time to learn the system and proves to the coaches that he belongs on the field, he will put on a show for the fans in the future. Wisconsin was considered the front-runner for his services for quite sometime in his recruiting process but he decided on BYU and signed. Good news for the Cougars on beating out the Badgers for a quality defensive end.
