Jake Heaps announced on Twitter and Instagram today that he will be transferring to the University of Miami after graduating from the University of Kansas later this summer. Heaps came to BYU as the #3 rated quarterback in the 2010 recruiting class with high expectations that were never realized in a Cougar uniform. He played for BYU as a freshman and sophomore before transferring to Kansas. There he redshirted a season before taking any snaps. Heaps will be competing with one redshirt and two true freshmen for the starting position during fall camp. A fifth QB is projected to come into the mix once he recovers from a torn ACL mid season. This will be Heaps's final season and last opportunity to prove himself as a DI quarterback.
I am excited for the opportunity to play my last year of college football as a Miami Hurricane! Ready… http://t.co/BNEviyUELo
