#55 Eathyn Manumaleuna came to BYU from Anchorage, Alaska in 2007, and despite being a freshman he started every game at nose tackle that year. Although he had a productive season with 25 total tackles, it wasn't until he blocked UCLA's field goal with 3 seconds left in the Las Vegas Bowl that he became a household name for Cougar fans. Then, he went on a 2-year LDS mission to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. As a sophomore he started eight of the thirteen games in which he played and recorded 27 tackles on the season.

Manumaleuna's junior season continued the steady rate of improvement with 33 tackles, he started all thirteen games as a defensive end. His senior season turned into a medical redshirt after he was injured four games into the season. Coming back in 2013 made it possible for Manumaleuna to set the school record for most games played at 54. During his senior season he recorded  four games with at least seven tackles and a career high of 10 tackles against the University of Virginia.
