Fall camp started yesterday and the story lines are already unfolding in unexpected ways. Jamaal Williams announced that he has been suspended for the UConn game due to violating team rules. He practiced with the twos and said that he will be back in action for the Texas game. Fellow running back Algernon Brown missed practice, and could miss most of fall camp, due to injury. QB Taysom Hill threw three deep touchdown passes to Nick Kurtz, Mitch Matthews, and Jordan Leslie.
Shoulda been a Fua strip sack. RT @Five4BYU: Taysom to Leslie, sweet! https://t.co/ApdNhYhJcE. #BYU #byufootball

Head coach Bronco Mendenhall was most surprised by Trey Dye, who played running back and not receiver, saying that he knew Dye was talented but that he didn't expect him to be able to jump in so capably at the college level and pace in his first day of practice. Harvey Langi did suit up as a Cougar and has not only switched teams, but also sides of the ball. He will be playing linebacker and could see playing time this season. Mendenhall was also impressed by the defensive line today, saying that they also exceeded his expectations.
