Saturday night marks the 4th meeting this season between BYU and #3 Utah. The Utes came out on top in each of the 1st 3 games winning by a combined score of 25-2. The Utes have been dominate over the Cougars during past several seasons having won 20 straight in the rivalry.

Both teams enter the game having just lost to #9 Utah State while conceding 7 goals.

Thursday night, BYU fell to the Aggies 7-4 and the story of the game was all about the power play. The Aggies were 4-6 on the power play. While the Cougars were effective as well with the man advantage netting 3 goals. Against Utah, BYU must do a better job on the penalty kill, but remain potent on the power play.

In his season debut, defensivemen Cam Hymas scored and generated an assist scored by fellow newcomer Ben Gantt. Cougars captain Chris Tuttle helped his teammates light the lamp with 2 assists.

Friday night, #3 Utah fell to Utah State in Logan 7-2. It was a disastrous start for the Utes as the Aggies slipped two two quick goals by the usually steady goalie Chris Komma and never looked back. The 7 goals scored on the Utes is their highest total allowed against a western region team all season.

The visiting Utes are led in points by sophomore Josh Dangel, who has 23 goals and 17 assists. Two sets of menacing brothers, Chase and Colton McDonald and Beau and Shaymus Bertagnolli, also provide a lot of problems and activity in the rink. Utah is a very deep team with great speed on the ice through all lines.
