BYU and Montana Tech will meet twice this weekend on Friday and Saturday at 7:00 PM. These game will be the 3rd and 4th meeting of the season. Montana Tech leads the season series 2-0 with wins in Butte of 6-5 and 6-4.
Montana Tech is having a great 2014-15 campaign. The Orediggers have posted a 13-3 record on the year leading to the high ranking. They are led by star goalkeeper James Adamo. Adamo has been outstanding with a 2.63 Goals Against Average and a jaw dropping .930 save percentage on 345 saves. Throughout the season the most goals scored by an ACHA Division 2 opponent on Adamo was 4. That feat was accomplished by BYU in the last meeting between the two teams, which resulted in a 6-4 victory for Tech.
BYU is still winless. However, the Cougars gave #3 Utah all they could handle last Saturday in a 5-4 overtime loss. BYU was ahead through the first two period, and equalized late in the 3rd period on a CJ Coslett goal assisted by defensivemen Blake Holmes and winger Ryan Hoeke. While the loss hurt, playing neck in neck with a quality opponent has built the confidence of the Cougars heading into this weekend.
