In a recruiting day change of fate, offensive lineman Demetrius Davis out of Pleasant Grove, Utah accepted a scholarship offer from the BYU Cougars. The 6-foot-4, 265-pound lineman had previously accepted an offer to be a preferred walk-on at BYU and will now enjoy the fruits of a scholarship. Davis also received interest from Air Force, Southern Utah, Boise State, Utah State, Northern Arizona, and Utah.

The good fortune likely came when Salem, Virginia prospect Zach Hoyt signed with Virginia Tech.
Davis is a lineman that loves to make the block and will push his guys as far away from the play as possible. You can see in the highlights how physical he plays and how much he loves to hit the guy across from him. He should fit right in with the nastiness that the Garret Tujague and BYU coaches want in the Cougars' offensive line.
