National Signing Day is right around the corner, ad 2016 recruiting is marching on. Another name was added to the class, as the Cougars picked up their second quarterback commitment. Per his Twitter account. Hayden Livingston has committed to the Cougars.
Livingston, from Rigby, Idaho, is another under-the-radar prospect. He has a two-star rating from Rivals, is unrated on ESPN, and doesn't have profiles on 247 or Scout. The six-foot, 179-pound Rigby, Idaho QB reports an offer from Air Force, and attracted interest from Boise State and Utah State.
According to Total Blue Sports, Livingston will decline the offer from Air Force to accept preferred walk-on status at BYU.
On paper, the things that jumps off the page the most for Livingston is his speed. Per his NCSA profile, Livingston boasts a 4.4 40-yard dash time. The Cougars have had pretty good luck recently with speedy QBs from Idaho, and perhaps Livingston can fill a similar role on the roster now, at QB, or perhaps even at other positions as well.
Livingston is the second QB in BYU's 2016 class, joining Jaren Hall. You can see highlights of what Livingston brings to the table below:
