After last week’s convincing win over Michigan State, the BYU Football team must have decided we needed some more excitement in our lives. Six close games was fun and all, but you know what’s even more fun? Overtime! The Cardiac Cougs were at it again, this time taking it into double overtime to defeat the SEC’s Mississippi State Bulldogs on Homecoming night. It certainly wasn’t the complete game we saw against the Spartans last week, but a win is a win!

Couch Coach Aria Jackson joins us this week to review what went right against Mississippi State and what needs to improve before the Cougs kick off against the Broncos on the Smurf Turf in Boise on Thursday night. Although there were some definite bright spots, such as Jamaal Williams surpassing Harvey Unga as BYU’s all-time leading rusher, there were also some things that need to be cleaned up if the Cougars want to hand BSU its first loss of the season.
Another road game means another Along the Trail to Fame and Glory segment, this time with Boise native and life-long BYU fan, Preston Darger (and former employee of BYU Athletics). Heading on a roadtrip to the City of Trees this week? Preston fills you in on what to do and what to eat before or after the game—and only about half of them involve potatoes! But in all seriousness, Boise is a great place to visit and you’ll definitely want to give Preston’s recommendations a try. Tweet us your pictures if you do!
Finally, we round up this week’s news from the BYU social mediasphere in our Talk of the Town segment, including a post-game player proposal, BYU Basketball player shenanigans, and a birthday shout out to one half of our favorite bromance from the other.
Here’s the Herm Edwards clip for those of you who haven’t seen it.
