It’s out with the old and in with the new for BYU QB Taysom Hill. He’s swapping out his familiar jersey no. 4 in favor of lucky no. 7, in the name of remembering his late brother Dexter.
Hill tweeted out a picture from BYU’s FanFest at Xango Park in Lehi around 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

"To commemorate the life of my brother Dexter, I am officially changing my number to 7 this year," he wrote, with the photo featuring a signed mini football and the new jersey number.
Hill’s brother Dexter donned no. 7 throughout his football career. Dexter played at Highland High School in Pocatello, then Scottsdale Community College and finished up at Dixie State.
Dexter passed away on March 25, the day before BYU’s spring game, in which Hill was slated to play. Hill missed the scrimmage due to the sudden loss.
Quarterback Beau Hoge has been sporting the no. 7 for the Cougars but there has been speculation that he will swap with Hill and wear the no. 4 for the upcoming season.

Hill is returning to the Cougars for his senior year after using a medical redshirt while recovering from a lisfranc injury.
What do you think of the number change for Hill?
