A few TV schedules have been released and BYU will be on national television for their first two games of the 2016 season. Arizona and BYU will be televised on September 3rd on Fox Sports 1 at 8:30 MT. The week immediately following on Saturday the 10th, BYU travels to Utah and will be in primetime, 5:30 MT on FOX.
This is important for BYU given they are not in a conference and typically don't have non-home games on national TV. BYU has a TV deal with ESPN for home games but this provides two additional opportunities against quality opponents to gain exposure.
Last year's Vegas bowl was on ABC when BYU and Utah went head to head and with FOX wanting to carry the regular season match up, it's clear that people are interested. Despite what some may say, this game is big to a lot of people locally and nationally. America loves rivalries, and BYU/Utah is no exception to that.
We reported on the odds for these games a few weeks ago and it looks like both of these contests will be close. BYU is a small favorite against Arizona and Utah is a touchdown favorite at Rice Eccles.
Stay tuned to Vanquish the Foe as more TV schedules will be released.
