Parker Dawe announced on his Twitter account Tuesday morning that he has received a scholarship from coach Kalani Sitake for his upcoming senior season. At 6’ 3” 301 pounds, Parker is listed as the starting center in the post spring ball depth chart.
Upon returning from his mission, Dawe was on the scout team for 2013 and 2014. In 2015 he saw significant action on the field, playing in 10 games and starting 2 of them. He has come a long way to now landing a scholarship, a dream of any college athlete.

This scholarship does raise some questions regarding Tejan Koroma’s status as he was the star of last years offensive line and the presumptive starting center for 2016. There are several rumors on whether or not Tejan will have a position change and hopefully all that will be resolved during media day on Thursday.
Regardless, coaches giving out surprise scholarships is one of the best moments in the world of College Football and everyone should be happy for Parker and his wife Emily. Jake Kuresa, former BYU star reached out to Parker on Twitter:
@pdawe54 @criddler21 well deserved man. Congrats
