Kalani Sitake and offensive line coach Mike Empey received a commitment from Connecticut standout Seth Willis on Tuesday. Seth is the ninth highest rated player out of his state and plays both offensive tackle and defensive line in high school. He is expected to play offensive line for BYU.
Seth will bring size to the Cougars as he currently stands at 6’ 6” 315 pounds as a high school junior. Last year he led the offensive line to producing 4,200 yards of offense and a deep run in the playoffs.
Excited to receive an offer and announce my commitment to Brigham Young University!! #allglorytoGod #GoCougs pic.twitter.com/mollI6H7Ya

Willis does not currently have any other offers from Division I programs but holds several from Division I-AA institutions. This does seem to be the trend for recruiting for BYU lately, send out a ton of offers and ideally land some diamonds in the rough along the way.
In fact, as of last week, BYU has handed out 34 offers for 2018. This is an increase from just 9 offers this time last year for 2017. Put slightly differently, Sitake is giving out nearly 6 offers for every 1 offer that Mendenhall gave out. It has yet to be determined whether or not that will pay off.
Take a loot at Seth Willis’ highlight reel from last season here. There is no doubt that he is a big boy able to impose his will on opposing lineman. Hopefully the same will ring true at the next level.
