It’s week 27 of Cougs on Cougs, and Big 12 expansion speculation is dominating the BYU fandom. If you haven’t already read every article, scanned every tweet, and listened to every radio show about it, and want a rundown of what has been happening, Vanquish the Foe has you covered here, here and here. But if you’re burned out on Big 12 talk, let us simultaneously entertain and distract you with this week’s episode.
Continuing our Cougs and Coaches series, we spotlight our new Defensive Coordinator and Linebackers Coach Ilaisa Tuiaki. We tracked down video of his MMA days for your viewing pleasure and we discuss his fierce cage nickname. Watch to learn something you didn’t know about Coach Tuiaki—we look forward to seeing his experience and expertise on the field in September!
NBA Summer League just finished up, and once again, speculation as to whether Jimmer Fredette will get another shot at the NBA is in the air. We discuss a recent Sports Illustrated article and do a 2-Minute Drill about Jimmer’s NBA chances, discussing reasons people have given as to why he won’t make it and should head to Europe, and giving our take on why there is a spot for him on an NBA team (and which teams those might be).

Because we can never get enough of Jimmer talk, we invited Tasha Sabey on for a 3 Things segment, where she shares her top three Jimmer memories. Remember how awesome Jimmermania was? Reminisce with us on some of his greatest moments.

Finally, as always, we round up this week’s news from the BYU social mediasphere in our Talk of the Town segment, including baby Coach Sitake pictures, the BYU50 contest (read Jess’s article about how to win here), a Taysom and Tanner meme, and who Elijah Bryant keeps getting mistaken for on campus.
