The expectations for BYU wins this season is tempered given the new coaching staff and tough schedule, but according to USA Today, the expectations for Taysom Hill are sky high. There are 16 preseason Heisman candidates and USA Today has fifth year senior Taysom as one of them.

Josh Rosen is also a candidate and those two will meet on September 17th in Provo in what will be an absolute showdown. Rosen is the only player on the list that BYU will face but there are many other familiar names to College Football fans. Standford running back Christian McCaffrey, LSU running back Leonard Fournette and Clemson quarterback Desaun Watson all made the cut.

There is no doubt that Taysom struggled to be an efficient passer early on in his career but in his last six games he has looked great both passing and running the football. Taysom is 109 of 166 (65.7 completion %) with 1,243 yards, 8 touchdowns, 4 Interceptions throwing the ball in his last six games.

If he can keep those numbers throwing and continue to do what everyone knows he is capable of running the football, he will be on the Heisman watch list for many weeks to come.
