Cougs on Cougs: ‘Y I’m a Fan’ with Eric Woodruff

He’s one of BYU’s biggest and best fans: Eric Woodruff.

Jess and Mary sat down with him at a BYU tailgate as one of their ‘Y I’m a Fan’ segments.

‘Y I’m a Fan’ gives Cougar Nation the opportunity to share their story — why they love the Y, and cool experiences they’ve had through their fandom.

Eric has had lots of cool opportunities afforded to him as a Cougar fan, including but not limited to being a Thursday’s Hero shortly after BYU’s historic ‘09 win over Oklahoma.

Eric enjoys many close relationships with current and former players, their families, coaches, etc. but especially with Coach Paul Tidwell who coached inside linebackers at BYU.

In the video above, Eric talks about how Tidwell came into his life at what he believes was exactly the right time and how Tidwell is like a father to him.

Jess and Mary also talk with Eric about who he was excited to see in the UCLA game (like Butch ‘Bring the Pain’ Pau’u who had 19 tackles). Eric also briefly discusses the first Cougar Walk of the year, which he attended. He said it was “very energetic.”
