According to Vegas Insider, BYU is a slight underdog this Saturday as they go on the road to face Utah. Most sport books have set Utah as a 4.5 point favorite.

This is an interesting development given that just this past May, BYU was expected to be more than a touchdown underdog.

Perhaps the change is simply BYU playing a game as there was a good amount of uncertainty prior to the season. BYU also looked particularly good on defense, holding Arizona’s typically prolific offense to just 16 points.

Both fan bases feel essentially the same about their team right now, confident in the defense and slightly worried about the offense. Utah took quite awhile to get going against Southern Utah on Thursday and BYU never really opened up the passing game Saturday.

Given that both teams bring an efficient running game to the table, it makes sense that this matchup could go either way. BYU has the better skill players but that will likely be equalized with Utah’s daunting defensive line.

It’s difficult to speculate how the game will play out because it seems that both teams kept portions of the playbooks closed in their openers.

Will BYU be able to cover the spread? Or even pull out a victory?

Find out this Saturday at 7:30 ET.
