BYU kicks off its last weekend for official visits before Signing Day

Before national signing day next week, BYU has one more shot to host 2017 recruits and convince them that Provo is the place to be. Among the 10+ recruits who are going to be in town this weekend are Chaz Ah You (4-star defensive back), Alden Tofa (three-star defensive end,) Bentley Hanshaw (three-star TE / DE) and Tariq Buchanan (two-star wide receiver). Tofa is still undecided and will be choosing between BYU, Utah, UCLA and Oregon, while Buchanan and Hanshaw (who just received a late offer to Cal) have both verbally committed to play for the Cougars. Chaz Ah You has also indicated that he will be announcing his college destination on signing day.

2018 target receives invite to The Opening regional competition

One of BYU’s targets in the 2018 class, Jaren Kump out of Herriman High School, received an invitation to participate in Nike Football’s The Opening, a skills competition for high school football players. The camp in an opportunity for players to show their stuff against some of the top talent in the country. BYU was the first to offer the three-star offensive tackle and if he performs well at The Opening there is no doubt more offers will come in.
