Cougs on Cougs: Three Questions ahead of BYU Basketball’s season

Jess and Mary turn their attention to BYU Basketball with three questions regarding this new season. It’s basically here!

NCAA Basketball: West Coast Conference Tournament-BYU vs Loyola Marymount Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

Welcome to another episode of Cougs on Cougs, fellow BYU fans. It’s been a rough week season for BYU Football, and unfortunately things were no different last week, as the team dropped to 1-7 after losing 33-17 to the East Carolina Pirates. Nothing is going right for the football team, and it’s too difficult to pinpoint any one thing that could turn it all around. As a result, Coaching from the Couch is unusually short this week. We’ll keep supporting and hoping for a major comeback, but for now, let’s all turn our attention to BYU Basketball!

Wednesday!! . . #BYUhoops #GoCougs

The first chance fans will get to see Coach Dave Rose’s latest team is at the Cougar Tipoff Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at the Marriott Center (or live on byutv.org). And for fans near Albuquerque, the team will be playing an exhibition game against New Mexico in The Pit on Friday night at 7:30 p.m. to benefit the victims of Hurricane Harvey (no television or radio broadcast plans have been announced for that game yet).

Our 3 Things segment focuses on three questions we have for this BYU Basketball team. After a disappointing end to last season, there is plenty that could improve. With so many new and returning faces, there are plenty of unknowns! What questions do you have? Share them with us in the comments below.

A short Talk of the Town begins with a sad visualization of the BYU Football season so far, and an astounding stat concerning the number of injuries this team has suffered. It’s bad, guys. Very bad. But the good news is that this Saturday at home, the Cougs will have another opportunity to get a win! We know everyone is hurting, but if you possibly can, please be there to support the team against San Jose State at 1:00 p.m. in LaVell Edwards Stadium. Wear Navy. Be a fan like the one who shared our Notable Quotable, or the one who’s our second sponsor!

We’ll see you next week, Cougar fans! And hopefully it’ll be to discuss a BYU Football win and a BYU Basketball win!
