The BYU Cougars are carrying a winning streak into Fresno on Saturday when they take on the Fresno State Bulldogs.
Under new head coach Jeff Tedford, the Bulldogs have played to a record of 5-3. Fresno State has earned that record with fantastic defense. Fresno State is in the Top 25 teams nationally in Pass Defense, Rush Defense, and Scoring Defense.
Meanwhile, the Cougars offense has been ineffective in 2017. BYU is in the Bottom 10 teams nationally in Scoring Offense and Rush Offense — they rank 92nd in Pass Offense.
So, it is fair to say that BYU may well struggle offensively yet again — especially against a really talented and effective defense.
The real question for BYU’s matchup against Fresno State is: Can BYU’s defense hold Bulldogs WR KeeSean Johnson and company to a low score, force a couple of turnovers, and give the Cougars a shot at winning two in a row?
Tosh and Keith are here to talk it out.
