After QB Zadock Dinkelmann decommitted from BYU earlier in the week, BYU landed another 2018 Texas (Wylie HS) QB in Stacy Conner.
After various outlets reported the news on twitter, Conner confirmed to Vanquish the Foe that he has committed to BYU after taking an official visit to Provo this weekend; Conner will enroll at BYU this upcoming January at the beginning of Winter semester. With the early enrollment, this means that Conner will be able to get a head start and participate in Spring Ball in the new offense.
The 6’5”, 185 pound QB committed to UNLV over the summer, but recently reopened his commitment. Conner also had offers from Memphis, UConn, New Mexico, Nevada, San Jose State, Arkansas State, North Texas and Texas State.
Conner was a high school teammate of current BYU receiver Micah Simon, who was Conner’s host on Conner’s official visit this weekend.

Conner said that he was recruited to BYU as a QB and considers himself a pocket quarterback, which shows on film. Conner throws a nice deep ball, and shows a willingness to stay in the pocket before looking to run. He does, however, have good athleticism, meaning he could potentially play another position if QB doesn’t pan out. Conner looks like he would fit in best in a spread offense, which may signal as to what offense BYU is planning to run if they plan to use Conner as a QB.
