Weber High offensive lineman Tysen Lewis signed with BYU today during the early signing period for the 2018 class.
Lewis is a 6-foot-5, 270-pound lineman who played left tackle for a Weber team that finished 9-2 this season. He’s a two-star recruit, according to 247Sports, and also held an offer from Utah State.
Lewis committed to BYU on June 14 during a summer camp. According to a report from the Standard-Examiner, offensive line coach Mike Empey offered him a scholarship during the camp and Lewis called him back in less than six hours to commit, causing him to cancel an upcoming recruiting trip to Utah.
Despite changes on the offensive staff, Lewis held to that commitment and signed to play for Jeff Grimes and co. today.
