The best nickname of BYU’s 2018 recruiting class belongs to Oliver “The Punisher” Nasilai.
The 6’2”, 245 lbs linebacker from Arkansas brings the physicality you want to see from the middle linebacker position. Nasilai roams the field from sideline-to-sideline and is an elite run stuffer. His crushing hits of opposing running backs, QB’s and receivers aptly sum up his nickname.
Nasilai also played some time at outside linebacker during his high school career, so he may move there depending on BYU’s personnel needs. Nasilai also rushed for TD’s while playing running back. Due to his playing style, however, Nasilai seems like a natural fit at the middle linebacker spot.
Nasilai had an offer from Oklahoma State, and was picking up interest from in-state school Arkansas before ultimately deciding on the Cougars.
Nasilai is LDS, and his mission plans are unclear at the present time.
