BYU Football Recruiting: TE Ben Tuipulotu signs with BYU

They play some good football in South Carolina, so it’s always good to snag one from the Palmetto State

Wisconsin v BYU

BYU added other pass-catcher to the 2018 class with the signing of Ben Tuipulotu of Fort Mill, South Carolina.

The 6-foot-4, 200 pound free safety/tight end will follow in a long line of family members that have contributed for the Cougars throughout the years.

Ben’s father Peter played fullback for BYU during the Ty Detmer era (1987-91), rushing for 17 touchdowns, 1,528 yards, and a 5.5 yards-per-carry average in his Cougar career. His uncle, Tom, preceded Peter at BYU from 1983-86, rushing for 587 yards in 1985 as a halfback. Also his brother Hank signed on to play for BYU’s in their 2016 class. Like his brother, Ben will most likely serve an LDS mission before joining the football team.

Ben has a little brother named Petey coming up the Nation Ford pipeline, so there's a good chance BYU could get another player out of South Carolina in the coming years.
